the reality is that most of our favorite musicians that we listened to and grew up with are in the twilight of their lives.
Always enjoyed Meatloaf and his 2 surround releases

He was a great delivery method for Jim Steinman's bombastic songs.

Obviously Bat Out of Hell was a hard album to follow up on but I think he regained his footing after he & Steinman reunited for Bat II.
I have to say that I really enjoyed the album run between Bat II through Bat III. He sure knew how to pick female vocalists to duet with. Patti Russo, Marion Raven, Jennifer Hudson, his daughter Pearl, and of course Ellen Foley & Karla Devito.

And that band line-up on the first album. WOW. Rundgren & Utopia + E-Streeter's Weinberg & Bittan + Edgar Winter and Rory Dodd what an all-star lineup.

A sad day.

@Guitmark made a lovely tribute to him on FB today. Was touching to get a personal perspective of a super fun artist.
I only know a little bit of Meatloaf's work (mainly '77's Bat Out of Hell), but what I've heard I like!
