This Japanese Pony Canyon version is Mastered with FORS (Original Solutions | Q-TEC), and, IMO, makes a big difference.

By Comparison, the different Ascot Elite German Version that is also DTS-HD MA 7.1 is Region B and the Mastering is different.

Also includes a second Bonus Disc

3 Mill Valley Film Festival Talk Event
4 Interview with the production team by Lars

Is the Japanese version less compressed than German? Is bass less bloated?

I find the Bass is more overall but actually more refined.

Overall the FORS mastering makes the mix more bass heavy than the German release but the whole mix is clearer and more discrete. It's my go to disc for working out the low end of all my speakers. Orion is particularly impressive because of this bass.
