Seems a little premature. The album was released in 1973. However if you want to get technical, he started composing it in 1971 and recording sessions began in 1972.

Yes, it is now appearing that's what this is. The performances are sanctioned by Mike, but he will not appear himself.

Starting August 7th through to August 15th, Tubular Bells – Live In Concert, will feature musical direction from Oldfield’s long-time collaborator Robin A. Smith. Pre-sale tickets available at ticketmaster.co.uk this Wednesday, and on sale Friday, January 29.
