Please post your thoughts and comments on this Hybrid SACD release from the VOCALION label in the UK. This disc features the original 1970's Quadraphonic mix of two albums released by Hugo Montenegro - "Others by Brothers" and "Scenes and Themes"
Both Quadraphonic mixes are also available to stream in Dolby Audio via Apple Music:

Mix is incredible, fidelity....exceedingly good, the music.....not to everyone's tastes though I like it, or should I say "dig" it? The first LP is superior to my mind, I guess I'm a sucker for the Moog record, or in this case, Arp record.

I'm only on track 5, and I really shouldn't post anything until I've heard the whole disc, but...

I really like Hugo's quad albums for the most part, though "Scenes and Themes" is probably my least favorite. "Others By Brothers," on the other hand, I have never heard before tonight. And damn it, OBB is awesome! Great arrangements, great playing, great mix! Very similar in style to "Hugo In Wonderland," which is my favorite Hugo quad album. This SACD is worth the price for this album alone! That said, I'll probably have to give this a 9 just because I don't love "S&T."

Anyway, back to listening. I'll hold off on casting my vote until I'm done, just to be sure.

I agree with jdmack about Scenes being my least favorite. I also had never heard Others by brothers before, and like a lot better than Scenes. Ivote 8 over all. I really hope these guys get to the better HM albums, Godfather and Niel's diamonds are 2 of my favorite quads ever. I also really like Wonerland and rocket man, the Elton John one also.

Excellent surround mixes throughout. While there's a slight drop-off in fidelity with the second album on many of the DV twofers, that's not the case here. I also seem to like most of the songs on both albums (more-so than on any of the other Hugo twofers)... "Others By Brothers" is especially good. 9.
