This does not surprise me at all. I gave it a 10 back on it's release and it still holds true to this day.

Congrats to all involved in the making of this fine piece of work.

And it deserved to! This is one of the best examples of what a surround mix should be. Congrats to Donald Fagen and all who made this album so great.

As great as the Alan Parsons disc is, I think they chose the better one.

Weird Al's disc is good, but Fagen's is superior in many ways. The best disc won.

I also noticed that 'Some Skunk Funk' by the Brecker Bros. also won a grammy
for large ensemble or something like that.
Did not win for surround, but does come on a 5.1 sacd.

I think other releases available in 5.1 also won grammys.

Flaming Lips - Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for "At War With The Mystics" and Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "The Wizard Turns On..." They were also nominated for Best Alternative Music Album but lost to Gnarls Barkley.
