All,

Is it possible to connect more than one optical digital output to a single optical digital input, i.e. using a switching unit, of the type that most overloaded SCART users have reuired down the years?

I realise that this may be a stupid question as optical data streams don't resemble the standard electromagnetic stuff usually pumped down the humble old copper wire... but I'm sure someone could shed light on this for me.

My reason for asking... I have a Sony DAV-S800 unit with only one optical digital input, sufficient for my current digital sattelite system. However, as I may be expanding to a standalone DVD-A player and a notebook with digital output I need to know my options!

TIA

JF

BTW - If none of this makes sense then that's probably because I'm in the UK..... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

Thanks for your help, guys.

I've found a couple of dealers in the UK that stock 3-way optical digital switching units, exactly what I need!
