Hi Jim,

I’ll revert the Volume Gain calc to the previous code in next release (your previous post).

The change coming in next version is only to DR. When MMH creates an album DR file, with a new preference set, it will add track channel peak and rms stats (like shown in the Volume tool) for each file in the album folder. Exact format yet to be determined.

I was doing a bit on this today but it’s a bit more work than I thought (as usual…).

Yes, the statistics… It could look like in the statistics_foo.txt example attached. All in one file would be nice as my example (took some time to do this).

I've got MMH to create a file like this (seeking your approval before releasing @M-K )

So with a new preference set to show stats, when MMH creates a DR file it appends the track stats on the end of a 'normal' DR file - see end of this sample:

Thanks. This will be released today in MMH 6.0.6.

I’m going to see if I can speed up the batch recursive sub-folder DR feature prior. At the moment it loads the Channel Volume tool (invisible to user) for each album folder.

Music Media Helper 6.0.6 released

Version 6.0.6 (March 26 2022)
-------------
Changes:
Dynamic Range (DR) files: Added new preference to Append track audio stats for all album files - new
Channel Volume tool: Now saves Audio stats now saved to DR file if new preference is set - new
Batch Audio Tool: DR analysis: Audio stats now saved to DR file if new preference is set - new
- NOTE: The new Append Track Channel Stats preference is in MMH Preferences on Launcher dialog
Batch Audio Tool: Added new checkbox under DR Analysis to force recreation of DR files - new
MMH track DR calculation: MMH ignores channels with < -30db peak level (too low to impact what you hear)
Updated PDF docs

Fixes:
Channel Volume tool: Revert to old 6.0.4 version of auto gain calculation

The MMH Track Dynamic Range (DR) calculation change resolves incorrect DR calcs where a 'silent' channel has very low level hum or hum with spikes which create abnormal 'averages'. In one case the 'silent' channel dynamic range can be very low (DR2) and in the other case the silent channel dynamic range can be DR50 or more.

Here is an example of a new MMR DR file that includes the optional track stats, including channel DR:
Code:
                Channel 1 Channel 2 Channel 3 Channel 4 Channel 5 Channel 6
Peak Value: -4.50 dB -5.82 dB -5.83 dB -32.41 dB -10.10 dB -11.09 dB
Avg RMS: -23.76 dB -24.03 dB -23.83 dB -44.49 dB -30.18 dB -31.02 dB
DR channel: DR15 DR14 DR12 DR15 DR13

In this example, the 4th (LFE) channel is very low level so it's ignored in the MMH track 'average channel DR' calc (and not shown in this report). For all practical purposes an LFE channel at that level will hardly be heard at average room volume from a normal listening position so its ignored just like 'silent' channels that are not really silent (i.e. some SACD's converted to PCM)

Hi Garry,

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards,
Jim

More info please? It looks ok to me.

If you want the track stats you need to set the new DR Stats preference ‘on’ in main Launcher dialog Preference menu.

Music Media Helper 6.0.7 Released

Version 6.0.7 (March 30 2022)
-------------
Fixes:
Batch Audio Tool: DR File issue if user's Windows Region uses comma as decimal point - fixed

(you'd think I'd learnt this lesson my now...)

Garry, 6.07 is not installing on my Windows machine, says "account already exists" when the installer tries to run.

When I start MMH it says 6.06 (update available) but even when updating within the app says go to downloads folder and run .msi (which comes back with same "account exists").

I tried that, thanks. It simply had me uninstall MMH as a whole and start again (installer from first post, page one). I did, and then MMH 6.06 came up with the same (update available) message at the bottom. When I go to "check for updates" it tells me 6.07 is available and I download it. But when I go to the location it claims it is located at it is not there. No immediate issue as I am not affected by commas-as-decimal-points but VERY weird anyway.

BTW, Win 7 Home Premium. It's just my desktop tower, not a music server machine or anything. I usually do file prep on this machine and many of my little tips and techniques would be lost if I updated to Win 10 or 11. NBD.

Apologies. I just saw your post just now. Looks like I forgot to increment the version number.

Now fixed. I'd inadvertently changed the build profile so the published 6.0.7 installer had 6.0.6. Now fixed with 6.0.8 build:

Version 6.0.8 (April 2 2022)
-------------
Fixes:
Batch Audio Tool: DR File issue if user's Windows Region uses comma as decimal point - fixed
Previous version 6.0.7 built incorrectly (it contained 6.0.6 which also causes MMH to inform users there is a new update continuously)

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong (using v6)?

I just want to swap front left and right on a 5.0 file. That's all. (It's the Japanese Birds of Fire 'quad' SACD) There is no LFE in this track.

Remix Channel layout -- > Remix User defined

select FL arrow to FR -- DEL
select FR arrow to FL -- DEL
click and pull arrow from FL to FR
click and pull arrow from FR to FL
delete all LFE, LR, RR objects

but the output still has empty LFE, LR and RR tracks.

Gotta be an easier way I;m missing?
