Not in this case, verified all the individual tracks are lossless only.

You're right that the rears are dead silent and that's wrong - DVD/DTS Poll - Chevelle - This Kind Of Thinking (Could Do Us In) [DD DualDisc]
However, there's plenty of discrete activity in the center, so no vanilla stereo either

Yes it's very front "wall" of sound. Something must have happened with the mix sent to Apple Music.

That's a bonus track from the CD release. Never mixed in quad, I'd imagine.

It shows as Dolby Audio but it's mostly just 3-way (fronts and center), with only a bit of ambience in the rears. I tend to prefer a regular stereo mix to these types of 3.0 mixes, but thought others might want to be aware of this being available. Probably the same mix that was released on SACD many years back, but I haven't heard that so I'm just assuming.

I have the SACD and from what I listened to it's the exact same mix. Still nice to see on Apple Music.
