One thing you might not realize, however, is how affordable this hobby is. There are both government programs and NGOs that specialize in putting multichannel gear into the hands of those who need it most. (For just $5 a day plus some 14-gauge speaker wire, you can sponsor a poor middle-aged accountant who currently listens to music on his Amazon Echo! :eek:)

Just ignore all the posters who complain about the hits their wallets take. It's a smokescreen so other people don't realize how much free gear there is. Heck, McIntosh is registered as a 501(c)(3) charity in the US. You can look it up.

Anyway, I gotta run. I'm donating the rest of my day to a music kitchen downtown, where we hand out Bowers & Wilkins bookshelf speakers to the needy.
