Great interview! lots of info, and I like the line about the possibility of seeing another mix of Dark Side of the Moon and the response from Nick: '' Yeah, well, it would take about 50 years to persuade the rest of the band to approve another mix, so. . .

Mine should be here today, usually I get pre-orders from amazon on release day, I hate waiting.
So, did Amazon already tell you it's been shipped? I ordered from Amazon, and mine hasn't shipped yet..but already says Tuesday delivery. Pretty unusual for Amazon to not have it on my step on release date.

Ordered my copy on Thursday and it arrived today. Nice engaging surround with some discreet action in the rears. Overall, one of the better concerts I’ve heard and of course the material selection is *chef’s kiss* absolute perfection.
The concert is broken up and interspersed with vintage PF clips + interviews of the band. The audience are very respectful and mixed down so as not to distract.
I’m playing it rn “songs only” option with the TV off. This is terrible of me but they looked like one of those “Dad Bands” in a cialis commercial for erectile dysfunction.

Lee Harris was a new discovery, knew nothing of him until seeing them live.
Was lucky to get a seat on his side of the stage, watching him operate in the video is a delight.

Came up with the idea for the band & should get credit for it.
He's a great interview with an interesting life story.

An old friend who lives in San Francisco rang me up today and is in town for the week. We got to talking about this release; he saw them live but would be up to watch it. . . Oh he asked if it was okay if he brought his friend Lucy Sky Diamond with him and would I like to meet her. 😊

Only had a brief watch up to obscured by clouds. But 5 guys having a blast on stage. Could not stop smiling. One that has to be watched in the dark and cranked up to 11
That’s what I noticed too. Nick behind the drum kit with a perma-smile on his face. The guy has enough money to last several lifetimes. At this point— screw it! If you aren’t enjoying what you do then quit. And Nick is obviously having a blast.

Anyone notice that iTunes will have a 4K version on October 27th? I know streaming is inferior to disc, but when you're talking 4K vs. 2K, I dunno which is the better way to go, but I suppose to get the uncompressed stereo & 5.1 mixes, the Blu-Ray is the better option (sound over picture regardless). I wish there were an Atmos or Auro-3D mix of it as well as an option. I have some live Auro-3D recordings where you can close your eyes and feel like you're sitting right there in the venue. It's eerie. Unfortunately, Auro-3D has gotten little support in the industry, but Atmos can be made to perform similar or even better with a proper mix. I'm debating whether to order a Blu-Ray or pre-order the iTunes version. I love a lot of the older material (Careful With That Axe Eugene from Live at Pompeii is a personal favorite; all other versions I've heard are inferior to that mix).

My 5.1 DTS-CDs and SACDS seem kind of old hat these days after hearing Lichtmond 4 The Journey in a mind blowing Atmos mix (and Lichtmond 3 in Auro-3D before it). Those aren't Pink Floyd, of course, but they're not light years apart either. I'm a big fan of Delerium, Enigma and Pink Floyd and Lichtmond is somewhere in-between (probably more towards Delerium than anyone else). Somehow I would have thought Pink Floyd or members of it, would be doing the latest and greatest in terms of sound mixes and I've been disappointed with Gilmour's 5.1 only output as well. Frankly, I prefer the 2-channel versions of The Division Bell and Waters' Amused To Death (latter in Q- Sound places most sounds in the same position for the main listening position, but somehow has more kick to it where it matters and I prefer most of the original songs to the altered ones as well). The Division Bell in 5.1 just lacks bass and drum kick compared to the 2-channel mixes somehow. It's harder to pick with DSOTM and WYWH as both the Sony and Parsons Quad mixes are both quite good, but I love my fully analog 30th Anniversary DSOTM vinyl LP (bass is better than any of the CDs and I got a clean pop-free 24/96 recording of it on the first play (and lucked out that my LP didn't come from the factory with the defective bad sounding LPs besides).

Edit: I went ahead and ordered the Blu-Ray of S.O.S. It should be here tomorrow.
