That's good news, Hamilton. But beware the evil consulting agreement that often suddenly appears just before you plan to walk out the door.Good Deal! & Congratulations!
My wife and I were planning on retiring last April, but I've stayed on to finish a project where I know all of the old history and information.... We're giving the company until December this year! I can't wait!
I retired six years ago, and as my dad told me, “six months after you retire, you’ll be so busy you’ll wonder how you ever had time to go to work.” It’s still the best job ever.Retired at last. More time to listen to my ever increasing surround sound music.
I gave my employer two months notice once I decided to retire. A couple of weeks before I was due to leave, they asked me to stick around for two more weeks, and I agreed. Then they asked me to stay another two weeks, and I was sure I no longer wanted to be part of that outfit. That's good news, Hamilton. I worked for 25 years at a retina specialist office. The doctor was a mensch, great physician, great guy. His wife that worked as the Practice Manager was a nightmare, a manipulative sociopath. Everyday was like walking a tight rope, never knowing if she was going to love you & shower you with praise or rip you a new one.I gave my employer two months notice once I decided to retire. I have a variation of that dream also: That I've never actually left my job although I've retired and I'm still working for no pay. However, I'm simply sitting at my desk as a guru giving out sage advice to people who enter my office. It always progresses to where the president of the company asks me to go on a business trip and I tell him/her that the company hasn't paid me in months/years and should probably start doing so along with travel expenses. That's when I always wake up.I dream I keep going back to work and doing my old job, no pay.
