This prolly won't be too difficult for us old people :D but why did the industry, back in the seventies, try to get users to use the term "back" for the back channels instead of "rear"?

I dunno, but my guess is that it was to avoid the confusion of having "R" for "Right" and "Rear".

See, I knew it. Bingo already! (y) This was especially true when the channels were abreviated with letters such as LF, RR (should be RB), or, worst case, LR (should be LB).

Q-Eight, you are a very silly person and you are to stay after class and write,
"I will let the voices in my head come from all four channels, LF, RF, LB, and RB" 1000 times. :D
