Ray Charles - The Spirit Of Christmas 2022 reissue (LP & CD)

Tangerine Records is releasing this 1985 album on both LP and CD (and most probably for streaming) on October 21, 2022. Both physical versions are available for pre-order on importCDs, Amazon and most likely other online stores as well. Ray Charles' web site has yet to provide any information about this new release.

This is the first time since 1985 that the album is released in its original format, devoid of additional tracks and with the original artwork. I, for one, am thrilled. I'm looking forward to comparing the new CD with the original Columbia CD.

I'm hoping the LP release will allow a new generation of listeners to discover Ray's sweet soulful seasonal sounds.

Caught Uncle Ray live. When the Raylettes began singing their big number, they were completely buried in the mix. Ray stopped playing and asked that their levels be increased. It was and they started over.

A perfectionist, for sure. Explains how most of his records work on many levels.
