My first true 'legit' system was a collection of Sylvania components c. 1973...designed for Quad, although, looking back, not good compared to what I *could* have had, but I was young, had a little dough, and didn't really read a lot about hardware despite having a Stereo Review subscription... Things got better in time, though, as I bought some serious(Advent)speakers, Sansui amp, Bang _ Olufsen TT, etc.(the only surviving piece from the Sylvania days was a CD-4 decoder, which I still have). Still quite a bit of vintage equipment kicking around, both here & up north, some newer stuff, too.
