I am currently updating the Classical discography so you might want to check it daily until I am finished. I believe I have those already included

OK, are you at the same time updating the popular section ?

Some but not much, comments welcome there but might take me while as the classical is eating up my time for now. I just uploaded today's updates in the classical. Might take another week for everything except for EMI stuff. That will take another month

TAKE YOUR TIME. You did already some VERY good work. I don't know about the others but myself I am in no hurry. I have many other hobbies beside music

Does anyone have any info on the Q8: Pony QPC-2001

Mark, I was able to adjust the pic Q8 end text and using Convertio OCR & Google translate; & it turned up these results (as best as I can tell.)

Maybe someone can figure it out from that, but I still didn't see that particular release in discogs etc.

(Twolzak ?)----- dvořák symphony no. 9 from the new world

Thanks, that's a start. I appreciate the info and had never thought of online OCR for another language. Did you happen to scan the front, I'm wondering songs and orchestra however I fear that this might be the only release of this recording that would make finding a comparable release to get info tough.

No haven't done that yet, but it looks like a good clean pic with white background and that will help.

I'll try and get that done tomorrow.

I used the same technique on the Santana Abraxas Sony 7" SACD SQ Insert to make a whole mocked up English translation:

OK, just gave this a go, and it's really spotty/questionable results here unfortunately
here's the Convertio web site if anyone else is interested in try it:

Doing a search for Satoshi Yamaoka yielded this

Shigenobu Yamaoka - conductor

Shigenobu Yamaoka served as the conductor for various orchestras including the
Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo
Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, and the current
Chiba Symphony Orchestra. He serves as the Honorary Conductor of the Chiba Symphony Orchestra

The only symphony he worked with during the quad era is the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra

Searching on Discogs or the net did not provide any further info. I sure wish we had some folks here that could transcribe what info is on there just so that i can be documented in the discography and drive the severe collector crazy trying to locate one of those tapes!
