A giant of modern calypso and one of the pioneers of soca in Trinidad & Tobago. (Decades before rappers, calypsonians adopted bad-ass monikers.) He made lots of great records over the years, but only a 1991 compilation on Rounder--Roots, Rock, Soca--is widely available outside of T&T:
