Have you heard this one Ralphie; solo cello and piano on these extended multi-channels seems like a waste to me (maybe some ambient room reverb ?)

I know you didn't ask me, Pup (!), but when has that ever stopped me from weighing in? SL is very careful and artful about room acoustics and mic placement in order to create an immersive experience suited to each piece's circumstances & instrumentation. That said: solo instruments don't showcase the possibilities for their aesthetic in the same way that an ensemble does--but on the other hand, those two solo pieces are only 19 minutes of a 60-minute program.

There's a photo of the recording session for the JLA piece in the booklet:

I'm certainly not trying to throw shade on the sound quality overall. May need to check it out further.

It's been a long time since I visited and posted but I thought I would stop by and let everyone know about a few discounts — and even FREE —available for AIX Records recordings.

First, is the iTrax-Sprint HD-Audio Sampler (18 tracks in three different mixes) that I produced in collaboration with Sprint a few years ago. It's available at the newly relaunched iTrax.com site in two different surround mixes ("stage" and "audience" as are all AIX Records releases) as well as traditional stereo. Check it out at: iTrax-Sprint AIX Records Sampler – iTrax. And through the end of June, ALL AIX Records albums are 30% off as downloads or physical discs at AIX Records and iTrax.com. Use coupon code "AIX30Percent" during checkout on both sites. Enjoy!

It only appears that orders can be shipped to Hungary. Is this due to the pandemic?

Sorry, no idea - all I had was a FB post, no comments there either. My cart tells me it should work at least inside Europe, but I haven't tried to check out yet as 1) I have the Forward DVD-A 2) S&H increases the total amount to 27 €, hmmm...

FWIW, I was able to successfully place my order to the US last night with no problem whatsoever, and got an order confirmation (but not yet a ship confirmation). The payment page may be a little non-standard, but did work for me.
