Hello Everyone! Was wondering if anyone on here has had any technical experience with a Sansui QR 4500? I've had it for a few years and its always worked (mostly) fine but it seems the left channel has gone out now, on both A & B, front and rear, speakers. Is it possible this is something very specific internally or could it be one or more of many things? Any help, maybe even a referral to a repair shop in eastern Los Angeles county, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi. ZoinksRecords

Welcome aboard, I am a Sansui collector I bought a Sansui QRX 8001 a view years back and sent it to ( www.qrxrestore.com ) they did a full restore of the unit and is still working great today they specialise in Sansui units, I highly recommend them, but the first thing you have to think of is how much are you willing to spend. I recommend going to there web site and go from there, unfortunate they are in...…. 2186 City View St. Eugene, Oregon 97405...….Shop phone: (541) 505-8843

Good morning and welcome Californian! Bigbillquad is right about "qrxrestore" . They are highly spoken of here on QQ. I myself have a QRX 9001 that is being refurbished by them right now. They even show you how to make a double boxed shipping container or you can purchase from them. I drove mine up (my baby!) and met Jim Showker's son. Very nice guy and great shop.

Here is a shop in the bay area I came across online. Haven't had any work done by them , but they do look very ligit : http://www.randbelectronicsserco.com

Also , are you sure it is the receiver? A while back , I had thought my receiver had dropped a channel . Found that it was the cartridge on my turntable that was the culprit .

Can’t go wrong with qrxrestore. They were immensely helpful when my 9001 needed help and Jim showed me how to just send him some boards from it (mine was previously restored elsewhere, so did not need the full treatment). Good luck!
