Sansui QR series

Hi,

One of my first quad units was a cute little Sansui
QR-1500. Nuthin' great as far as decoding but it beat plain boring stereo. One feature it had that I enjoyed was the knob allowing a 1/4 and a 1/2 turn option. This feature seemed to move the sound field. I played with it trying to determine if it just changed the "center front" focus to the side speakers or the rear or whatever. The change was easily noticeable.

Does anybody know what that "turn" feature did? I wish my QRX had the option since it seems to me it could enhance the groocy Vario-Matrix sound.

If i'm not mistaken, it rotated the whole soundfield, by switching the feeds to the amplifiers. Thus if you switched in 90 degrees, your right side speakers would become the fronts and the left side speakers would be the rears. (or vice versa)
