Found this unit but it seems so small, anyone tried one like this:

Dave Vacarro who I bought the QSD-1000 from many years ago also supplied a nice step down xfmr which I cannibalized at some point for another project. I ended up getting this later on for the Sansui:

I liked that was fused, had an on/off switch & could function as step up/down convertor. Your needs may vary. And at only 4.5 watts consumption Soundfield is certainly right about the safety margin.

I'm definitely not an expert with electricity, I've never owned a Japanese appliance, wouldn't want to make some dumb mistake so I appreciate your responses

The line frequency would be more consequential for items with an AC motor. The QSD-2 doesn't have a motor, so it shouldn't be a problem.
