Ah, we're sharing memories and adulation. It should be so. I think my 1st awareness of Connery/Bond probably came from a Life or Look Magazine. I know it came soon enough that I saw
DR. No at a theater. And also
From Russia with Love. When he takes that little folding rifle out of an attache case, and shoots down a FRIGGIN YELLOW SPECTRE HELICOPTER under a rock, the crowd went wild. I mean this was the 1st movie I had ever seen where people stood up and applauded. Bond was more understated: "I'd say one of their aircraft was missing."
The movies, I think, usually came out in November. And I would see each one as many times I could in the theater run. Soundtracks. I went fast to Montgomery Wards to buy all the paperbacks....
I even have
Never Say Never Again on LaserDisc. Woosh! Connery plus Kim Bassinger + Barbara Carrea? Klaus Maria Brandauer as the villain? One of the best. Ah haha Rowin Atkinson also!
George Lazenby as a successor was the worst despite Diana Rigg's contribution. Roger Moore & Pierce Brosnan, dismissable. Daniel Craig? Like some various DR. Who's, one of the best to follow.
Maybe some have forgot that Sir Sean Connery added an incredible amount of talent to The Time Bandits as the Greek King:

God rest in peace, Sean Connery.
Edit: I have typed all of this post on a Lektor. I hope you can read it.
