This is my (new) SS1100D CD-4 system I bought few weeks ago in an auction. I tested it and everything's working properly but need full restoration of the amp and deoxit on all controls and switches. Still looking for the schematics do. The 4ch 451c gauge strain cartridge is there but as a stereo stylus. So i didn't tried my CD4 test record. i ordered a bunch of capacitors to recap it and when money will permit i'll buy a shibata stylus and give it a try. This unit was intended for sale in Japan and Australia and can work on either 100V 60hz or 240V 50hz. This one is a 240 V 50hz unit but the TT motor still run at 100V. A change of wiring on the power transformer allow the switch of power source. For now I use a converter transformer to operate it at 240V from 120V 50hz. The amplifier does not seems to be very powerful but the huge 3 way speakers that comes with it give an excellent sound at decent level. I will also need a new plater or motor for 60 hz operation of the turntable, it's way too fast as is.
So for now i only have this much to show but hopefully by the end of 2020 i'll have it completely restored up and running.

Impressed as I was the 1st time I saw it. Is the room updated with new pics ( I can't see any diff) or is it just new improved photo's? I had no idea you could post this kind of stuff on BR.com. Next pic show us the new neon window sign:
Sergio's Home Theater & Bar.
Open 24/7.

Sergio: looks to be a lot of ash trays around, are you a smoker?

No, I'm not a smoker today, quit smoking in 2015 and was one of my best decisions (no offence to the people that smoke). The ash trays are collected travel souvenirs. Nobody ever smoke inside my house on those days, not even me, and for sure not now. And yes, I did had 2 beautiful humidors with cuban cigars (Cohiba Lanceros, Macanudos, etc...) but give them away to my friends when I quit cold turkey in March 2015. Sometimes I still miss a great cuban Cohiba cigar when I gathered with friends sipping old añejo rum on the rocks.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Regards,

Finally set-up my second OPPO... as a stereo headphone listening station (I had given my Hi-Fi Man 500 headphones and Lyr tube amp to my son, but he returned them to me recently when he got speakers for Christmas for his computer.) The vintage 80’s spectrum analyzer just makes me happy. The bottom shelf will someday be filled with 7” Sony Quads (I hope!) (the cd with the red light is my original Pulse disc... blinking since the early 90’s ... after many battery replacements😁)

Hi I post the pics later, but as I just filled in as 'signature" in my messaging profile settings is the analog quad gear I own:
Sansui QR-6500, Sansui QRX-6500, Sansui QD-5500, 2x Akai AS-970, 2x Akai 1800D-SS, Akai CR-80D-SS, 3x Toyo Model CH-720
The pre-recorded media: CD-4 and SQ vinyl, Quad 8-tracks and reels
The home self recorded Quadraphonic and blank media: Quad 8-tracks and reels

One may see this post of mine also as my somewhat late Quadraphonic Quad member introduction

Hi everyone. My name is Simon, and I'm a Quadaholic (and Surroundophile - sounds a bit naughty). In two months, I will have been a member of this dedicated and friendly group for three years. What a journey it has been and continues to be.

The very first week I've started digging these forums, I've stumbled onto this thread and a post in particular which just had my jaw drop. I would like to give a special shout-out to QQ member wavelength for inspiring in setting my ideal 5.0 system (Cheers Lad!). I saw the picture of his three Stereo amps (back then wee tube amps, now a trio of Rega Brio) used to drive his 5.0 gear and I knew right there and then that this was the path I wanted to follow. I had never been warm at the idea of hooking up everything into a unique processor. I knew I'd be using the analog outputs from my Oppo BDP-105 and connect these directly into an amp or amps. I was using a 1969 McIntosh MC2100 to drive my 1973 Spendor BC-1 speakers, which are my front speakers. I decided to try to find matching amps so I could have a richer and more balanced sound. In the U.S., it's a rather easy thing to do as hundreds of these amps were made and sold. In my neck of the woods, it's another story altogether.

It's taken me three years, but I have now just installed two pristine acquisitions which make me a very, very happy fella.

I was successful in finding another MC2100 to drive my rear speakers and a MC250 (the MC2100's little brother) to drive the center speaker in Mono mode and the sound is simply crazy. Whenever a 5.1 or 5.0 mixed track sends the bass in the Center, it just blooms. It will have taken me years to reach this level of sound and I'm really pleased with how this came about. I'm currently listening to On An Island by David Gilmour and I'm just stark, raving mad happy.

Here's how the set-up looks. I may not have the blue meters everybody raves about but I actually love this bad ass look the tube amp chassis give them.

In februari 2018 I sold my 2 MAC model 2100's and two mac CD players and pre and tuner. Turned out not to be my cup of tea went for Pioneer ' Spec ' gear instead, but MAC always was 'sweet' gear indeed! But dmmm,..these 2100 amps weight a ton!

Just picked up my second Oppo blue Ray bdp-93 in mint condition fully boxed for $50.00 Cdn. Crazy. I asked the seller why they are selling it and she said they got a PlayStation so don’t need it. Ouch.
