New arrival today. I had two Polk 12” ported subs and already sold the newest one. After running this for an hour (sounds awesome with music), I’m thinking this will replace both of them. I still have one of the Polks but doubt it would play nice with the sealed sub. But don’t think I won’t experiment:D
Nice! I gots the PB-3000 and it's a room rattler. Could always go more and bigger but I got the neighbours to consider + the plaster on my walls/ceiling.

But wait, there’s MORE! I posted some before n’ after pics 10 days ago depicting my having completed the finishing work on a couple of acoustic treatment projects employing Binary Amplitude Diffusers. Since then my my MTB riding buddy and cabinet making whiz Marcel and I wrapped up another room treatment project that was going on with the others. This compound ceiling cloud for the rear of my room will likely be the final acoustic treatment required for my current gear and room configuration.

The pair of 60"x36"x6" broadband absorptive traps are situated where they will intercept and kill the primary ceiling reflection for both the stand-mounted ATC surrounds and the ceiling mounted matching ATC Atmos channels.

The trio of 5" deep 2D QRD diffusers over and slightly behind the listener’s head play a different role. They are intended to do the same thing as the 1D fractal QRD diffuser array on my rear wall- reduce the strength, randomize, de-correlate, and further delay longer reflections of frequencies above 1kHz, primarily for stereo listening.

If you can delay and randomize the arrival of high frequency reflections by 20ms or more, these particular delayed reflections can become a very good thing. They create a lovely sense of airy spaciousness which fool your ear-brain into believing the room is larger than it actually is. Strong early reflections = BAD. Weak, well dispersed, and late arriving high frequency reflections = GOOD!

This shot here...the place looks like a modern cathedral or shrine. Maaaaaaaaagnificent.
I had ray-traced the ceiling reflection travel paths between the four speakers at the rear of the room and all three seats. Then I created several pencil and graph paper sketches of acoustic treatment layouts and shapes for the new ceiling cloud that met the requirements. There were several "linear" designs which then required odd shaped absorptive panels with face surface areas approaching 20 sq ft. The oddball panel shapes would have been more difficult to upholster and still achieve a professional looking result. When I came up with the V-shaped "batwing" idea it was instantly obvious it would be perfect. It used the lumber more efficiently, required simple rectangular absorptive panels of the smallest surface area (only 15 sq ft) to intercept all the target reflections, and finally- it just looked much more interesting architecturally. I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Sorry but I can't make a connection to what must be an earlier post.... what are you referring to? The Boston poster, or a piece of gear?

Oh, the new "consumer" Surround gear; having foregone schmarantzzz shite forever, I got me this baby... a Preamp and a REAL AMP, which started also giving me shite like the schmarantzzz did (shutting off) but this time I could REALLY pinpoint the culprit (WOULD YOU BELIEVE....A FAULTY RCA CABLE???? yes, indeed...shaking my head)...
I could endorse this.. good stuff...

Congratulations on your new toy! Very impressive. I look forward to any subjective comparisons in sound quality between the old & new gear.

Does it include an RIAA preamp for your TT? And certainly if Ralphie read your post you will get an educational lecture about using top quality cables...

well, no, it don't have a phono preamp... I DO have a Pro-ject Phono Box which I have been using for a couple of years cause I never fully trusted nor liked the sound of the SR7012 preamp...

I have to say that the sound coming from my humble Polk Audio speakers is fuller than with the SR7012, I am guessing that since I upgraded to a 170w per channel amp, it sounds rounder... the preamp even has a "MAX volume adjust" which I took down from 65 to 55 just in case, cause my Polkies state "up to 150 w @8 ohms" and I don't want to blow them out...

In a nutshell...groovy tunes!

Nice new component combo, you should be very happy.
I wouldn't worry over speaker damage from the extra power. Speaker damage most often occurs from amplifiers driven to high distortion levels which has a tendency to fry tweeters. If your music stills sounds clean you should be safe.
