Hello Again,

Here we have ye olde ripping turntable and cassette player at the computer with a Sansui integrated amp. In the background you can barely see some of one of the baby Klipsch's that go with this setup. The turntable is a fully automatic Technics SL-5300. A nice feature that it has is that when the tone arm is raised the stylus is not hot, so you can clean it without all the noise. Also when the arm sets down to play there is a slight pause before the stylus gets hot so you don't have to kringe at the sound of the needle hitting the record and picking up the groove. Notice the Sony Car Discman on top of the cassette deck. Too funny, as I am typing about cars Autobahn just came on in the next room where my youngest sons are watching the Min Max, Kraftwerk video on still another setup.

When I use this setup at the computer, it's double stereo point one. The Sansui puts out stereo to the Klipsch's while the computer drives the signal through a 2.1 Infinity package. When I want true quad in here, I can bring in the Panasonic Q8 deck and feed 2 channels to the Sansui and 2 channels to the computer. Woala! 4.1 in your face. Cheap thrills.

It gets better, I promise...

Hello,

Now we're at least getting into DD, DTS, 5.1 with A Kenwood 1/2 logic receiver and Yamaha sub and center speakers with some Bose satellites. Nothing fancy here, another Technics table, a JVC DVD player and a 50 CD Sony changer. This is considered the theater in our house.

We'll mosy over to the sound room (Alcove) next.

Finally,

The gangs all here. Now we can really have some fun. But wait where's the monitor so we can navigate the Pioneer player? Back to the drawing board...

Aha!!!

Now the picture is complete.:sun

What we have here is a very streamlined, but very efficient vintage/modern, quad/surround system. The Marantz 1070 integrated amp is the switchboard for all the stereo/front channel/sub & center info., along with an AudioSource EQ and a NuReality SRS processor. The rear channel signals are fed directly into a separate pair of the EQ and NuReality. Then everything is fed to the Sansui QRX 7001. Note the #'s 1070 & 7001, they're a match made in RNR Heaven. This is all rounded out with the Panasonic Q8 deck (thanks to those of you who recommended it, I love it), and a Technics SL-1300 TT with low impedence connects to complement the JVC 4DD-5.

That's all, I hope you enjoyed the tour. If you're ever in the neighborhood drop me a line and come hear it!

I would also like to know the answer to the above question. I have a QRX-777 (euro version of the 7001) and it has wooden sides. I also have a QRX-7001 with metal sides.

Hope this works as far as attaching pics - techno illiterate with this aspect - have no idea the jpeg sizes or if I can adjust them, but will try so I can play too!

Denon/Dali

Main setup
*Denon AVC-A1SE (US AVR-5800)
*Denon DVD-3930 (SACD / DVD-Audio)
*Denon TU-1500RD
*Denon CDR-1500W
*Dali Grand (Front and Rear)
*Dali Grand Vocal (Center)
*Dali Euphonia AS2 (Sub)

The Sub is supposed to be placed between the two front speakers - but that will have to wait until I move to another place.

I don't think Dali is well-known in the USA, but If you have the opportunity I can recommend that you listen to them.

OK, I think I will give this a try. The pictures don't convey it well, because it is in a small room and it is impossible to get a straight on shot. The speakers are in the adjoining room which is much larger.
