Any mix errors were probably caused by having controls marked LF, LR, RF, and RR instead of LF, LB, RF, and RB. They got confused.

I am generally not a fan of quad mixes, but this mix is the best quad mix I have ever heard. 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover sounds so good that you wouldn’t immediately recognize it as quad.

That's how I like to mix in surround. Turn it up loud and bop along and you don't even realize it's in four-channels. But when your other brain wants to hear that discrete separation, well - it's there, too. It's tricky, but sometimes - when you get it just right - it's pure bliss.

Together with "There Goes..." an aural sculpture in 3D, perfect marriage of excellent tracks and quad mix. Apart from the hits, "Gone at last" is a standout here, thanks to Phoebe's phenomenal voice.

Never a prolific songwriter, but what Paul committed to wax is beyond compare, but especially his early to mid-seventies output.
