Simple Minds Street Fighting Years box set in the works

SDE has confirmed that a box set for Simple Minds' Street Fighting Years is forthcoming. No info yet regarding content, but fingers crossed that there will be a 5.1 mix, that would hopefully also be available on a stand-alone disc.

Reportedly, a Ronald Prent 5.1 mix was ready to go years ago - before it was decided that the sales figures of its surround predecessors don't live up to expectations.

If it comes I hope it's relatively cheap one. An okay Simple Minds record but a real step down from their "glory years" imho. I'd rather they go backwards and do a set of Sons & Fascination/Sister Feelings Call.

Or maybe a better idea - a small box of "the Early Years" stuff covering everything up to the bigger selling stuff....5.1 of whatever they can do....Reel to Real Cacophony would be great in surround.

I love this album and will definitely purchase 5.1 or not. This and the Real Life are favorites of mine.

I have exactly the same CD. Made by Sanyo Japan.
No wonder CDs were so expensive in 1985.

That's a bummer, no surround, but I am still in, it might be my favorite Simple Minds release.
