I have bought a new MARANTZ SR6013 for a 7.1.2 system with all the speakers from Q Acoustic (all 6 ohm). The furthets speaker is 12 meters from the AV.

what cable diameter should I use?

For the longest run you could use 10 gauge according to a Carver manual. According to Crown you could use 12 gauge
For closer ones you could use 14 gauge.

What you need for all your speakers connections is,

14 Gauge Speaker Wire

Yes on the pure copper, I prefer 10 gauge myself but the cost increases exponentially.

I've used 10 and 12 here. All with banana plugs. I didn't put any wall-plates anywhere, its all direct connections.

Nakamichi bananas where quite cheap.

I don’t know why, but here in AU it’s all metric EXCEPT speaker cable which is still sold in AWG!!

14 gauge (AWG) is equal to 2.0809 mm2 and 1.6277 mm

But the cable section is with the plastic coating or just the copper?

For your purposes, anything 14 AWG or thicker ( smaller AWG number) should do more than fine enough. Just get 12 gauge wire from monoprice and be done with it. No need to overthink this. The wire resistance over the distances mentioned will be negligible.
