they transmit sound waves back into your table, which in turn makes the vinyl play back have a slight muddiness to it.
Hmmmm...
from my VERY limited scientific knowledge, the only vibrations that would emanate would be from the stylus and those are VERY high and their wavelength would be way too short to fit within the enclosed space, granted, we could include their subharmonics but still...
but then, that would make my SL-QL1 a mess regarding muddiness...
