SQD-2070 Sony decoder

This is among the rarest of the Sony decoders. The front case says it's full logic. Well..... at the time it was considered full logic but later improvements added additional logic.

This unit has wave-form matching logic and had a list price when new of $90.

Ends March 31st.

For those that collect various units this one may be ne of the hardest Sony decoders to find. Yeah.... now that I've said that watch dozens of 'em hit eBay!!!!!!

I think this has the same innerds as the SQD-2010. I actually prefer the non 3-chip design. I would go with a 2020.

Picked one of these(Sony 2070) up last week at the Buena Park (California) record show for a good price.
The seller also had two CD-4 decoders. Seller was trying to explain that the CD-4 decoders were better than the 2070 because the phono hooked directly into the CD-4 decoder instead of tape loop like the 2070. Uhhhhh, that's was a new explanation to me.

One of the CD-4 decoders was a Harmon Kardon 44+.
Any opinions of that unit? Seller wanted $40.00 for it.
