Okay I threw everything at the wall, most won't stick, what might? There is CTI stuff in there so...

I get the strange feeling we are gonna get a whole reprint of the quad discography by end of week. ;)
As to the Beeb transcriptions, they are probably only licenced for the original broadcast then intended to be destroyed. I seriously doubt they will ever legitimately be released.

I promise no more requests after today, please do not respond to negatives only comment on the possibles. Thank You!!

bah! if i don't give you some negatives you'll never know what's what, what! 🧐

for example, George Benson's "Body Talk" is already out now on Vocalion Surround SACD.

ps. its fabulous (imho!) 🥰

oh... and.. dare i say it... "Metal Machine Music" was also reissued on both DVD and Blu-ray.. bonne chance! 🖖

Not really only the ones that interest ME under certain elevator & church music overrepresentation concerns of mine plus I am done listing..:).Too bad with the bbc.

i'm a bit more optimistic about the BBC stuff than Matthew.. afaik they didn't sling out all their musical archive over the years like they did their video stuff (Dr. Who being my own personal bugbear with Auntie's purging ways!! 👽 )

A new hope then... Should I send my request list to Dolby? I introduced Larry Fast to them last year, dunno what has transpired with Synergy.

If the Beeb outright owned the copyrights to the music and the performance I could see it happening. Otherwise it would be some legal wrangling with the band wanting their cut which makes such a project less profitable all round. Some Beeb stuff has made its way into the Netherworld of torrents but I have no clue as to which ones have been shared or that are still out there. They aren't as plentiful as King Biscuit stuff. The original transcriptions do turn up occassionally but they get real pricey as they were probably pressed in the dozens for Beeb affiliates around the planet. As to Doctor Who, there are some past and present Beeb officials that should be fed to the Daleks. I sure wish video tape had been cheap back then. NBC did a purge once too that saw a huge chunk of TV history get burned in a parking lot after the metal reels were salvaged for scrap.

GB is in the have it but can't find it category...:D

Lou Reed has been denominated after YouTubing that album, Acquired Taste - understatement of the century!

Then charge for it... it's not like we haven't paid through the nose before. Premium pricing for non elevator and church titles! :D
I like the pop titles too over the other stuff. I also like the prices DV charges. I can't afford the expensive sets just to get the surround mixes. Some of the titles have had premium pricing as well but still affordable. As to the DV elevator music, that is their main gig as they cater to people with older tastes for stuff such as was only in print on 78s and early LPs. The fact that they have found us and added pop quad titles is a big blessing to us all. Long Live DV!

DV is very dear to me, I went to a Jesuit all-boys high school, During the music competition in 1974 4 bands played, the class of 1975 played Stairway to Heaven, the others I forget, I class of 1976 sang Airto Fingers' Parana, with the talking drum and all his percussive instruments, but I backed it up with a harmonics chorus from the girl's school next door, it was a standing ovation but the priests disqualified us for having girls in the choir. Believe or not.

Long Live DV!

The BBC has certainly been willing to license out its musical archive - in the classical world they partnered with ICA to release a very extensive series from their classical archives. The clearance process was in some cases simpler given the underlying works are usually public domain, but still worth being aware of: BBC Legends

Edit to add: also, many of their new classical recordings are made with the BBC Concert Orchestra and have BBC labeling on them. For instance: https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=CDLX7374
