My set should arrive some time this week, looking forward to it :) Did you request your replacement discs already?

I'm wondering if this set contains the replacement discs already. They've had almost three months to replace the defective discs in new set. Haven't opened it yet to check but thanks for the reminder. BTW, do you have a 3D capable TV? Can't wait to see the new 4K remastered Part III in 3D which blu.ray.com says is pretty spectacular!

edit: went ahead and ordered the replacement discs anyway just in case the discs are defective and/or the replacement program deadline runs out!

Hi, no - I got no 3D TV. Just an OLED 65" I am very happy with it.

Unless you have ordered the set from Shout directly, the set will contain the defective discs. --> FRIDAY THE 13th REPLACEMENT DISC PROGRAM | Shout! Blog

see my revised post. DID ORDER the replacements. Thanks. OLED 65" GREAT TVs! BTW, AmazonUS was $50 cheaper than ordering direct from Shout Factory and I used a gift card I received for Christmas......so ordered the Native UHD4K remaster of The Deer Hunter as well.

REALLY enjoyed this enchanting, hand-drawn masterpiece

Not only the character-driven story and spectacular visuals, but the truly discrete and immersive mix that surrounded me from the very beginning! Gulls and owls and crashing waves coming at me from all directions throughout and my sub seemed always rumbling! The sound design REALLY enhances the experience--playful and magical. And the soundtrack is everything you'd expect from a film titled Song of the Sea! Highly recommended!

Another winner from my recent foray into Kino Lorber releases. I've long loved this film and even studied it in film classes. It's never looked better, but my eyes have never been older! The real treat is the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. I never expected surround for a silent film. This one really delivers. Classic!

Existential and metaphysical are not terms I would associate with a Disney movie, but this is a delightful adventure to the afterlife. Featuring original jazz compositions from Jon Batiste and a "new agey" score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Streaming exlusively on Disney Plus, w/Dolby Atmos and Vision. As I have neither capability, The 5.1 Dolby + mix is exellent and discrete. The animation is what you would expect from Pixar - I was particularly impressed by accurately rendered "piano playing" and band performances (including the Roots leader, Quest Love).

One of the most prized possessions in my burgeoning Native UHD4K Collection with a glorious 5.1 rendering of Ennio Morricone's spectacular Score

Fans of this early silent treasure should avail themselves of SHADOW of the VAMPIRE which I had the pleasure of seeing in a private screening with the director, E. Elias Merhige, present at SUNY PURCHASE. Willem Dafoe plays the role of Max Schreck who legend has it took the role of playing the Nosferatu a little too seriously!

I just finished watching the extended version of the trilogy in 4k.
Wow.
Visually there are so many improvements that I don't even know where to start. Because of the extra work they did with the effects for this release pretty much everything is an upgrade to the BR version.

It is the first time I have had surround to listen to while I watched it so can't say how improved it is, but the reviews below make me think quite a bit. I can say that my speakers (5.1) were busy pretty much the whole time.

This was worth every penny of the roughly $68 USD it cost. It will have to be around $45 though for me to pick up the 4k Hobbit since I can read the book quicker than you can watch the trilogy.
