I thought about picking up a pair of LCD-5’s, then I checked the price…

Ummmmm....... I don't want to get anyone too excited but..... Towards the end of that video, when he's testing the headphones..... You can hear that he's listening to David Gilmour's "There's No Way Out of Here". He appears to have a multi-track session open. Could he be remixing Gilmour's first solo album????

When I got on their YT page, this video interested me, as I serviced MRI scanners for 20 years.
(Retired eight years ago.)

Anybody who's ever been scanned in a full-sized system can relate to this statement:
"The MRI is the world's largest loudspeaker, and it's typically hooked up to effectively a million-watt amplifier."

Earphones for patients in my day had to be crappy because of the sensitivity of the diagnostic signal path.
The most common types had no active noise suppression.
They were literally foam earplugs stuck on the end of plastic air tubes, driven by a small loudspeaker in a sealed box at the base of the scanner.

Good to see the technology progressing.
