Technics RS858US

We have a Technics RS858US quad 8-track recorder/player and the head needs to be replaced. Finding one has been the issue. Am I going to have to find an old unit to salvage the head from and hope that it works, or is there a place where one can be purchased? Can it be interchanged with another panasonic/technics deck? Need information!!

Head need to be replaced? Has it been damaged? Someone leave a soldering iron on a connection too long?

Sometimes you can remove heads and lap/polish them back into operating condition.

My Fostex A8 reel deck head block (8 channel) was sent to JRF Magnetic Sciences in NJ in 1992. Still in business here.
