Dear all

Last week I did a summary of my wicked thoughts in Audio to the Melbourne Audio Engineering Society- a bunch of high tech engineering types. I gave a history of me and Involve and my thought and findings over the years. I UMM and Ah too much in the beginning as I revved up and it improved later on-----Oops.

Here is a direct link:

Here is the Youtube

And here is a link to the summarising PDF

Its food for thought and you may not agree with all I say but its good for shits n giggles

" I'm going to be the one that shows up in the yellow suit"- that's me too.
"The 7ft tall speakers disappeared in liquidation"- I would have been that guy in the warehouse who would have made an after work trip to my house with them in the back of my van.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

hey that was really good, thanks for posting!

I actually watched the whole thing

some good points:

Stereo playback is unmolested & works well with a traditional system after encoding in Involve

The importance of the different bandwidth envelopes used for encode/decode is interesting

Great to a hear mention of the old Empire cartridge specs: they are very respected for quad vinyl playback

Sansui's QS system being referenced as a starting point for Involve is reassuring, as that was the format I was most concerned about decoding. Even though SQ is more common

The DSOTM discreet comparison at the end was intriguing: after hearing your presentation it gives creedence to the why. that's some swamp cred, right there ;)
