Dear all

Last week I did a summary of my wicked thoughts in Audio to the Melbourne Audio Engineering Society- a bunch of high tech engineering types. I gave a history of me and Involve and my thought and findings over the years. I UMM and Ah too much in the beginning as I revved up and it improved later on-----Oops.

"The 7ft tall speakers disappeared in liquidation"- I would have been that guy in the warehouse who would have made an after work trip to my house with them in the back of my van.

I actually watched the whole thing

some good points:

Stereo playback is unmolested & works well with a traditional system after encoding in Involve

The importance of the different bandwidth envelopes used for encode/decode is interesting

Great to a hear mention of the old Empire cartridge specs: they are very respected for quad vinyl playback

Sansui's QS system being referenced as a starting point for Involve is reassuring, as that was the format I was most concerned about decoding. Even though SQ is more common

The DSOTM discreet comparison at the end was intriguing: after hearing your presentation it gives creedence to the why. that's some swamp cred, right there

Here is a write up of the presentation from the AES journal. It made 2 errors

1 mentions prologic 1 in late 70's......was mid 80's
2 It says the Sansui SQ system..........was QS!!!!!!!
