Tower's 4th of July Sale - SACDs for $12.99 !

Well, sounds like it's time to visit your local Tower Records store if you have (or are planning to buy) an SACD player.

All CDs and SACDs that normally sell for $19.99 or less are on sale over the 4th of July weekend through Sunday for only $12.99!

This would include Stereo and Multichannel SACDs from the Chesky, Heads Up, Telarc and Opus 3 labels as well as Stereo SACDs from Sony Music. (Presumably the Multichannel SACDs from Sony Music would not be included as Tower sells them for $21.99).

By the way, the Tower Records web site has a sale, but it is a different one. On the Tower Records web site, you'll get free shipping on orders of $49 or more. Not as nice as SACDs for $12.99, but it's a sale nevertheless.

Tower Records stores in Rockville and Annapolis, Maryland would not honor the $12.99 price on any SACDs today (7/7). They had some marked at $16.99, however...but nothing I wanted.

Where were they honoring the $12.99 price?

That's too bad. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, several of the stores were indeed honoring the $12.99 sale price for SACDs.

I picked up a number of them at that price. A very good deal !
