This list took some serious listening. Thanks Filper and others here for their good choices that prompted me here. The sequence would be important for it to blend evenly and this might have to be tinkered with later for taste but as of this day I'am happy with these artists at least being in the top 20. Nearly have enough for a very tasty Vol 2 edition even if you had to keep it to one track per different artist.

1. Because - The Beatles (2.42)
2. Time Flies - Porcupine Tree (11.40)
3. Us and Them - Pink Floyd (7.48)
4. Hotel California - The Eagles (6.30)
5. Babylon Sisters - Steely Dan (5.49)
6. Ventura Highway - America (3.30)
7. Hole in the River - Crowded House (3.59)
8. Carnival - Natalie Merchant (5.59)
9. Laughing - David Crosby (5.27)
10.The Road - Jackson Browne (4.53)
11. Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits (6.50)
12. Arriving Somewhere but not Here - Porcupine Tree (12.00)
13. Chicago - Graham Nash (2.49)
14. The Beach Boys - Caroline No (2.57)
15. End of the Day - Beck (5.03)

Nice list..

I presume the Owner of a Lonely Heart is from the Mercedes Benz Signature Sound disc? FYI - I think the original stereo through the Surround master sounds MUCH better....

Cool thread...love making samplers so I'll chip in. Hope I'm not cheating by adding tracks from Blu-ray, SACD, and Quad sources though. And I might add that I already have separate samplers for Santana, Aerosmith, REM, Doobie Bros, Eagles, Doors, Chicago, Elton John, and Billy Joel as it is too difficult to pick one favorite.

Wow this was tough...will have to do a few more volumes. And of course it has to be even further abridged to fit on a DTS-CD

1. Chicago- 25 Or 6 To 4 (Quad from BD)
2. Aerosmith- Sweet Emotion (Q8)
3. The Cars- Just What I Needed
4. Pink Floyd- Money (AP Quad Mix)
5. Santana- Shades Of Time
6. Doobie Brothers- China Grove (ES Mix)
7. Ten Years After- I'd Love To Change The World
8. Allman Brothers- Midnight Rider
9. Derek And The Dominos- Bell Bottom Blues (ES Mix)
10. REM- The One I Love
11. Jeff Beck- Come Dancing
12. Eagles- Hotel California
13. Elton John- Candle In The Wind
14. Deep Purple- Space Truckin' (UK Quad from SACD)
15. Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody
16. Doors- Riders On The Storm (Quad from AF "Best Of" SACD)
17. Chicago- Beginnings
18. Crowded House- Don't Dream It's Over
19. Yes- Roundabout (SW Mix)
20. Bon Jovi- Wanted Dead Or Alive

Honorable Mentions:
XTC- Books Are Burning
BOC- Dominance And Submission
Fleetwood Mac- The Chain
Donald Fagen- New Frontier
The Band/Staples- The Weight

...and many more I can't think of at the moment
