Sony Music has released "Mysterious Traveler" by Weather Report (Columbia CS 65112) as a Multichannel Single Layer SACD Disc. It features both a Stereo and Multichannel SACD mix and is playable only on SACD equipment.
Originally recorded in 1974, Mysterious Traveller was the fourth studio album by jazz-fusion group Weather Report. The album includes several Weather Report favorites including "Nubian Sundance" and "Cucumber Slumber". The 5.1 Multichannel mix on Mysterious Traveler was produced by Al Quaglieri (who has produced several previous Sony SACDs including the Multichannel SACDs of "Ship Ahoy" by the O' Jays and "3+3" by the Isley Brothers).
