Females:
Chrissie Hynde-She's no Pretender
Joan Jett-Total Badass
Tina Turner-She got better as she got older
Ann Wilson-Nobody does Stairway to Heaven as well
Diana Ross-she's old school but she dominated during her prime, she survived Motown, for a woman in that time period, that says it all

Males:
Jim Morrison-without him The Doors would have played state fairs and bar mitzvahs
David Bowie-Ziggy Stardust to Major Tom, he sang about it and lived it
Chuck Berry-He was doing things in the 50's that others would copy decades later, and I'm not talking about the duckwalk
Steve Perry- A voice for the ages, I remember sitting in the football stadium in Philly listening to him sing and thinking, Rolling Stones Who?, as they were the headliners
Elton John-just a volume of songs that is hard to beat
How did I not mention Chuck!!!!!

Chrissie Hynde...I remember the first time I saw her...It was on Top Pop on Dutch TV. She was singing Brass In Pocket. My friend and I were impressed. I believe we were even sober which also was a rare occurrence back then. I went and bought that album the very next day.

And J. Pupster mentioned Fee Waybill earlier, and I have to give him an honorable mention. After seeing my first Tubes show back in '76-'77, I remember thinking to myself, WTF did I just experience?
