An excellent disc indeed, and the sound quality is very nice indeed.

Curiously MakeMKV fails to rip it. Has anybody else had this problem?

I've made my FLACs, but that doesn't necessarily mean I've used MakeMKV...

Anyway, the trick I use when MakeMKV fails me is I rip the DVD to IFOs (I use DVD Shrink), then re-rip it to get just the 5.1 portion and then try to use MakeMKV again.

If you want me to look into the process I can try and rip my dualdisc fresh to see what's going on here.

I wonder if that's in any way related to the fact that the pre-Blu-ray Oppo I was using at the time consistently only played the first few seconds of a track before skipping to the next one, playing a few seconds, skipping...etc.

It's been ages, but I probably got the audio off that one using DVD Decrypter. At the time it was literally the only way I could hear the surround mixes.

We’re going way off topic from the polls, but the Mods will chop it into a new discussion thread. Anyway…

What about creating a copy with DVDFab. Then use one of the other programs. There’s also DVD extractor. I’m curious how we figure this out.
