Billboard is reporting that Led Zep has announced the details of their new book:

The nearly 400-page project celebrates the 50th anniversary of the classic rock band.

It's rare for Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones to be spotted in the same place these days, but considering the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin's formation is imminent, a reunion of the band's surviving members is arguably due. The classic rockers are celebrating their milestone with a 368-page book, entitled Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, set for release this October. They announced the project Tuesday (June 12) with a photo of the trio holding a working draft of their latest non-music offering.

According to publisher Reel Art Press, "Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin is the first and only official illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members of the band." A goldmine for diehard Zeppelin heads, the book "includes previously unpublished photos, artwork from the Led Zeppelin archives and contributions from photographers around the world."

Although Page, Plant and Jones have collectively crushed hopes for additional live performances, perhaps Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin will soften the blow for fans. It's available for preorder now.

All fine and dandy, but in the time it took to put this almost 400 page tome together, the entire LED ZEP catalogue could've been remixed into 5.1!

It is still sad to see these gents without Bonzo.

It's even sadder seeing them promoting a freaking book....it's not like they are down to their last million yet..

Maybe when the levee DOES break, they'll acquiesce and bring Elliot Scheiner out of retirement to remix their back catalogue.........and I'm sure their book is full of a bunch of exaggerated fibs. FAKE NEWS!

BTW, as of 2016, Robert Plant's net worth was $170 million as was Jimmy Pages'!

I seem to remember that when Virgin bought Olympic Studios in the 80s they literally put all the multitracks in their vaults in a skip on the street! Amongst them were the multis for Led Zep 2 and the 8 track master of Whiter Shade of Pale by Procul Harum. Dont know if any of the stuff was saved though....

And Robert looks like he’s coyly presenting you with that “special gift” your cat left you under the bed!

I gotta say though...considering all the wild partying they did back in the day when Zep were kings of the road.....they do look quite dapper in their older years. Respect for that......they certainly don't look like washed up rock stars.

If only they’d listen to reason; our kind of reason 🤓

The official Led Zeppelin Facebook page has a post stating that this release concludes the reissue campaign. If true, very disappointing that we will not get the studio albums in 5.1 surround.

So Essentially, the SONG will always remain the same. No 5.1 from Led Zep!

And I wonder if their 400 page book will contain redactions?
