Dorothy Munyaneza - DVD Audio. Wonder what happened to Martin Russell and Luminary Records? I'm pretty sure I know but would have liked to hear more from his (defunct?) label. Quality world music in lossless surround.

Yes, a pity nothing more has come out yet from Martin. The Dorothy disc is an outstanding mix. When I bought the disc we exchanged a few emails in which he said he was working on two more albums, but other work had a higher priority.

About a year ago, I asked him again how things were going but never got a reply.

Hopefully Martin is doing well and will be active in surround mixing soon.

Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy.

My younger brother bought it on vinyl when it came out. I wasn't in to the "commercial stuff" so didn't appreciate how good EJ was. I do now!

If chart positions qualify as "commercial stuff," Capt. Fantastic ranked pretty high.
It was #1 in the US, although, it only hit #2 in the UK.

Thanks for this info. Did not know of this new release. Have preordered.

its available at Amazon.de now if you don't mind importing :)

also might be worth mentioning its billed as a "Limited Edition" (just how limited I don't know).. but to any QQ-ers who fancy this I'd say go for it now just in case this turns into another one of those surround titles where the price shoots into orbit once it's gone OOP.

I finally got round to buying this last week (I couldn't resist for £3!) and it is very nice indeed in every respect (y) more please Mr.Russell :)
