Trying out some stuff and need to get my 5.1 files to CD in a manner that
my receiver will decode back to 5.1. As I don't have the means to record to
CD with DTS, I tried WaveWizard with an AC3 encoder but WW doesn't like the
wave extensible header, I guess, which seems to be the output type for
the device I'm recording through (Audigy 2ZS card / w/ Neo6: DTS ).
I could record the wave file(s) to DVD-Audio but I hate to make a bunch of
coasters while experimenting.
Any ideas?

Split the file into single mono ones: look here

and download the program Channelx.exe.

winopener,
Thanks for the links! Had heard about these.
However, I was unable to successfully encode my multi ch waves to AC3,
even after converting to std wav format files.
I abandoned that route for Nero Soundtrax, and the VI vst plugin, as well
as some effects from Nero, then burned to DVD-A three versions of PF
"Sorrow". Not discrete, but a great sound! The surround reverb in Nero
works great.
Oh, BTW, this is working from the CD stereo file.
