I have 1 in the Basement (currently Dolby Pro-Logic decoding only) and
1 Upstairs (Dolby Digital, Pro-Logic, DTS and my external CD-4 Demod).

I'm considering building a line level DynaQuad decoder to use in a Bedroom, I
may use a Sony Boombox (line in) for the Front and a clock radio (signal from a
small FM transmitter) for the Back along with my 13" CRT TV.

I'm also planning a Dolby ATMOS system (and 4K TV with Dolby Vision) for
UHD Blu-rays, but I'm waiting for the prices to come down on Dolby ATMOS
speaker systems and 4K w/DV TVs.

Great thread.....
1 in the living room 5.1 with Dolby Atmos
1 in the man cave 7.1
1 in the bedroom 5.1
1 in the tv stance 5.1
1 in the Acura RDX (5.1?)

I am planning to install one in the bathroom....as is the only place where my wife and kids let me pass time alone....doing my stuff. 😝😝😝

It's cool to read what you've all got. Wow, some of you are surrounded by surround!

I have one 5.1 set-up in the lounge with which is where all the movies and music go down.

I've got some cheap 2.1 Logitech speakers for the computer which get listened to at low volume while I'm working and are suitable for try-before-you-buy YouTube and Bandcamp listens. Horrible bass from the sub but I can live with it.

I have a CD player in the Corolla but don't tend to listen to music in the car as I'm usually busy dodging horrible New Zealand drivers who consistently cross the centre line. I was gonna install the original tape deck in my newly restored MK2 Escort but that disappeared back in the 90's, so I got a plastic blanking plate from Super Cheap Auto to cover the hole instead.

One: 5.0. Digital formats only from DTS CD to Blu-ray. I can software decode SQ and QS via script.

7.1 home theater (phantom center), 7.2 office theater (phantom center, front heights), 3.1 bedroom theater (front LCR, so technically not surround), 5.1 car theater (DVD-Audio and - for reasons never adequately explained - a cassette deck).

Just one 5.1 system in our family room where 90 percent of listening, living and watching tv happens. But we now have an Acura TL complete with 5.1 surround for the car. In addition, I have two Kanto powered stereo speaker systems set up. One in the living room and one in the back bedroom. The living room is the single unit and the back bedroom has the separate speakers. These are rarely used but not because the sound is not good. Look up Kanto speakers. Cdn company. Absolutely excellent quality for the price. Also have a 2.1 Yamaha powered speaker setup hooked up th our Mac in the back bedroom.

Only the main avr in my house. But I'm poor. My tenants pay my mortgage, my utility bill, and buy me beer. But Me still cry the poor me blues.
I just got a new phone , a Sammy galaxy 5g. It has atmos capability! I was really taken by that one!
