That's the one they had, but in the cover with the 2-inch gold border around it. Maybe I should have grabbed it. There's a copy on ebay for much more now. I just never warmed up to her; I'm not a huge rock fan, though. But if they had Tom Waits growling in quad, I'd be all over that.

Tom Waits married a girl from my hometown, and does a song about it on two albums: Johnsburg, IL.

I've been a Waits fan from the beginning, even before he hooked up with Kathleen.

I own it on CD-4. I found it sealed in a cutout bin in the '70's. I own three Morton Subotnick Quads, as well. They're all very experimental and bordering on cacophonous noise.

The Morton Subotmick Quads are near the top of my wanted list right now.

I'll have to add this title to my list. I too like cacophonous noise. Especially if its retro futuristic, like a robot malfunctioning.

So many quads so little time (and money).

Man, I want that, too, now, but I've promised myself to stop buying new music until I play through the 100 albums or so and stack of CDs that are waiting to be spun. Not to mention the 6 disc "Sinatra in Hollywood" box set. now that I'm a regular working Joe, my music is piling up. No time to sit and listen anymore. So sad.

Dame Margaret Price soprano
Quadradisc RCA ARD-0852 (1975)
Gatefold Double LP, $15

Mahler #2.jpg

Used, but now blemish free after treating with Lou's cleaner.
The few remaining ticks removed by "backtracking" the stylus over
the tick moistened with a Q-tip and a drop of fluid.
(moving the stationary platter by slowly rotating by hand over the
tick back and forth a few times. This will do nothing for a scratched surface)
