A Far Cry, a small chamber orchestra from the Boston area, was one of the first to feature DSD 128 and Binaural DSD downloads. They have a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of their latest recording "Visions and Variations". Recorded in DSD 256 Stereo and Multichannel sound, it features a fresh take on "blockbuster" works by Mozart, Serge Prokofieff, and Benjamin Britten by the self-conducted Recording Academy / GRAMMYs nominated chamber orchestra.
NativeDSD Mastering Engineer Tom Caulfield reports "The eighteen-member group for this recording session just filled the space sonically like I hadn't yet experienced. This will be a very special recording, with a hall perfectly sized and appointed for this size ensemble. The fact that the multichannel release will be a direct DSD 256 edit with no post processing will also contribute to the result."
