Okay Gang
Here is one of my very infrequent plugs. Sunday morning
(9am, NYC time) with a repeat 13 hours later (10pm for
those, like myself who have trouble with numbers) My
show "The Vinyl Resting Place" will be featuring 3 hours
of the music of Cheap Trick. You can hear us on the web
at RadioMaxMusic.com - or, if you have the free TuneIn app,
at radiomaxmusic greatest hits. (https://tunein.com/get-tunein)
Now, why would you listen, ever, or this Sunday in particular?
well here's the line-up...
Hour one we play all of Cheap Trick's charted song 1978-1990,
plus one from 2016 (with are 4 exceptions) - During hour 2, we
play the last of their charted songs from 1990, and then what I
like to call
The Cheap Quadraphonic remix Trick
(because I'm old and old men think things like that are clever - sorry).
I've taken the original multi-channel master tracks (stems)
and remixed 4 of their songs into quadraphonic sound. This
time around I used the QS method of matrix encoding - so if
you have a sound system that decodes dolby surround, or even
a good set of stereo headphones, you'll be able to share in
the experience (even if you only have two ears)
For the remainder of the hour I play some of their classic
(but uncharted) records, then during hour 3 - I play their
new album "We're All Alright" - from beginning to both ends!
Well it ends twice - once after the 10th track, then, on the
deluxe edition, again after the 13th song. Unfortunately I
talk between the tracks …… but not over them.
So Join in the fun (I need the ratings) - and if you like
the idea of quad on the radio - shoot me an email, or post on
the station's facebook page
"radiomax listener group"
and let them know - I'm thinking of turning hour 3 into the
internet's only quad-hour with a combination of music released
in SQ, QS, EV as well and new mixes of songs, never available
in quad before.
Thanks for taking the time out of you day to read this - hope
you'll be with us on Sunday
