Budget Priced Receiver Recommendations

I am hoping that the esteemed members (or even the derelicts) of this forum can provide me some recommendations on a budget priced replacement AV receiver.
My Pioneer Elite receiver is fast becoming obsolete in keeping up with the new immersive formats such as Atmos.

Alas, I have a modest budget of around $600 +/-

The bulk of the receiver's duty is listening to various surround formats (SACD, DVD-Audio, Blu-ray Formats ect..)
Secondary is movie / TV Soundtracks increasingly done via streaming.

Any recommendations other than "why don't you up your budget" would be appreciated

If you don't mind factory refurb's- which come with full manufacturer's warranty- there's always some good deal at accesories4less. Every once in a while ther'll be a killer deal.

I know a couple of people who were looking at a budget Pioneer last spring--the VSX-LX303--that was once being discounted at Amazon for as low as $449. I think that model has now been replaced with another one, though.
