Well, I bit the bullet and bought a R2R. $400, but the unit seems to be in excellent shape and the heads look, as best I can tell, new! The guy has more vintage stuff (incliuding an Oracle TT, and a QRX9001) that may be coming my way too, if the prices are right. Right now I'm just stoked with the R2R......never had one back in the day, and feel like a kid at Christmas. Hooked to my 4270 with 4 Sansui 7500's it sounds so sweet! I've just been playing some stereo stuff that came with it, but I can't wait to try out some Quad tape. I'm a 60-70's rock'n'roller, but by the looks of the selection on ebay I may have to settle for Enoch Light, or something classical. Of the stuff that's readily available, what would be a good choice to showcase this new set up?

No, it's a 44ob. Just says 44 on the front, but the tag on back by the serial # says 44ob

Does it have a mechanical tape counter or does it have a digital display?
