Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the newer analog surround decoders to the venerable QSD 1? How about computer software?

It's an interesting question. I'd suggest that someone who owns a QSD-1 compare the decoding of the new "QS Final" script with the QSD-1.

Well, if someone has a QSD-1 and is willing to do somme proper evaluations between it and a QS-Final decode, let me know

The QSD-1 is actually THREE full-logic (variomatrix) decoders in one box.

The signal spectrum is divided in three (with a crossover) and then each part of the spectrum goes through a full variomatrix decoder.

As far as i know, software solutions posted around here do not do such kind of multi-band processing, and don't do any logic/variomatrix process.
